Lynn Daily Evening Item, August 12, 1901 Andrew Crane died at the Lynn Hospital, Friday, at the age of 23 years and 4 months. His death was due to an accident July 2, when at work in the Moulton morocco factory, where his arm was injured and blood poison set in, resulting fatally. He was born in Ireland and had been in this country about a year. He leaves one brother and one sister here. The funeral took place at his late residence, Murray Street, Sunday afternoon. Services, conducted by the Rev. D. F. Sullivan, were held at Sacred Heart Church, at 2 o’clock. The burial was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Lynn City Item, January 27, 1940 Patrick Crane, 72, 661 Western Avenue, died at local hospital, Saturday afternoon, after a long illness. He was born in Ireland, but had lived in this city 60 years. Up to his retirement 10 years ago, he had been employed as a machinist at the River Works Plant, General Electric Company. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary’s Church and the Thomson Century Club, General Electric Company. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Catherine Crane; six daughters, Mrs. Margaret Murphy, Miss Elizabeth M. Crane, Mrs. Kathleen A. Pendleton, Mrs. Helen G. Cronin, and Mrs. Marion T. Jordon, all of Lynn, and Miss Genevieve Crane of New York; two sons, William Crane of Flint, Mich., and Francis Crane of Lynn, 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Crane, 58, of 4053 15th Avenue South, St. Petersburg, Fla., a Lynn native and a graduate of the Union Hospital School of Nursing, died Monday in the Veterans Administration Hospital at Memphis, Tenn., after a long illness. Miss Crane had lived in St. Petersburg for the past six years. She served in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II and was a nurse in several Massachusetts and New York hospitals following the war. She was a member of the Catholic Nurses Association of St. Petersburg, the Sarah Deland Post of the American Legion, St. Petersburg, and the American Nurses Association. She was the daughter of the late Patrick W. Crane and Mrs. Bridget M. (Feeny) Crane of Lynn. She leaves four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Murphy of Lynn, Mrs. Richard L. Cronin, and Mrs. Leo Jordani, and Mrs. Kathleen Pendleton, all of St. Petersburg; two brothers, William F. Crane of Flint, Mich., and Francis Crane of North Andover; 11 nieces and six nephews. The funeral will be held at 7:30 AM Saturday from the Jay A. McCaffery Memorial Home, 59th Street and 8th Avenue North, St. Petersburg, followed by a Solemn Requiem Mass in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, St. Petersburg, at 8 AM Saturday. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Petersburg. Kathleen A. Pendleton obituary St. Petersburg Times, December 31, 1968 Mrs. Kathleen A., 68, of 1609 59th St. S, Gulfport, died Sunday (Dec. 29, 1968). Born in Lynn, Mass., she came here 14 years ago from there. She was a registered nurse. Member of Holy Name Catholic Church; Holy Name Women’s Club; District 13 Florida Nurses Association, St. Petersburg; Florida State Nursing Association; American Nurses Association and Court Saint Ann Catholic Daughters of America. Survivors are 3 sisters, Mrs. Helen Cronin, and Mrs. Leo Jordani, both of St. Petersburg; Mrs. Margaret Murphy, Lynn, Mass.; 2 brothers, William Crane, Flint Mich., Francis Crane, North Andover, Mass., several nieces and nephews. Friends may call this afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Leonard M. Bashaw Funeral Chapel, 1099 49th St. S. Recitation of the Rosary will be Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. Requiem Mass will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10 o’clock in the Holy name Catholic Church, with Father Frank Goodman, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. William Francis Crane obituary Harrison County newspaper, June 12, 1975 William Francis Crane, 77, of 1325 S. Jackson Ave., Harrison, passed away on June 4, 1975. He was born on June 8, 1897 in Lynn, Mass. Mr. Crane was united in marriage to Gertrude Gallentine on Nov. 15, 1942, in N. Gladwin, Mich. He has lived in the Harrison area for the last 20 years. William F. Crane was a Veteran of the V. F. W. of Harrison, the Eagles club of Flint, and the American Legion Post of Harrison. Surviving are his wife, Gertrude of Harrison, and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Murphy of Mass. and Mrs. Helen Cronin of Florida. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, June 7, 1975, at 3:00 p.m. from Coker Funeral Home, Inc., Harrison, with the Rev. Carl Gillett officiating. (Crane) Cronin, 77, formerly of Lynn, died at home here after a brief illness. She was widow of the late Richard Cronin. Mrs. Cronin was born in Lynn, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Crane, and she attended Lynn schools. She worked for many years as a saleswoman in the Lynn area before moving away 30 years ago. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Cronin leaves two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Wall of Leesburg, Fla, and Mrs. Geraldine Wilkinson of Lynnfield; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Murphy of Lynn, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The burial was Monday in St. Petersburg. Daily Evening Item, January 10, 1981 Mrs. Margaret C. Murphy, 88, 79 Gardiner St., died Friday at a local nursing home after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Murphy was the widow of Dennis J. Murphy, who died in 1927. A lifelong resident of Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Bridget (Feeney) Crane. She attended Lynn schools and lived at her current address for 70 years. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish Women’s Guild and a past president of the former Ward 7 Improvement Association Ladies Social Club. She leaves three sons, John H. Murphy of Waldoboro, Maine, Leo D. Murphy and James T. Murphy of Peabody; five daughters, Mrs. Don (Mary) Aley of Muskegon, Mich., Mrs. John (Elizabeth) Smith of Lynn, Mrs. John (Veronica) Miller of Lynn, Mrs. Martin (Margaret) Keady of Lynn and Mrs. Robert (Denise) Haseman of Wilmington; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Monday at 8 a.m. from the David J. Solimine Funeral Home, 444 Broadway, followed by a mass at 9 in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery |
