PATRICK HANLEY was born circa 1835 in Co. Galway, Ireland, and died October 7, 1904, in Lynn,
Massachusetts. According to his naturalization petition, he may have
immigrated to Boston, Massachusetts, circa 1853.
If true, he returned to Ireland for a period of time, perhaps due to the
outbreak of the American Civil War. It appears that he returned to America with his
family between 1865 and 1866. He became a naturalized U. S. citizen October 23,
1879, at the U. S. District Court, Boston, Massachusetts. He was a laborer. He
married HANNAH LAWLESS October 1, 1858, in Oranmore parish, Co. Galway, Ireland.
She was the daughter of MICHAEL LAWLESS and MARY (UNKNOWN). She was born circa
1841 in Co. Galway, Ireland, and died October 16, 1912 in Lynn, Massachusetts.
Patrick and Hannah had five children (see below). Only the two boys
survived to adulthood, and only John appears to have raised a family of his
own..

October 6, 1875, in Lynn, Massachusetts.
